Negative pith ball next to neutral conductor, conductor is briefly grounded. What happens?

The negative pith ball pushes the negatives in the bar to the far end of the bar. If this end is briefly connected to ground some of the negatives will flow to ground . This leaves the bar with a net positive charge, since it was originally neutral.
