Has anyone had trouble with bus drivers, who don't belive your child is under 11 years old ?

Today I was kicked of a N47 bus in Catford (London) by a very rude bus driver, who did not belive my son was 10 years old (he is 11 at the end of Dec'08). Althought I was in formed by the Oyster card help line I would not need a Id card for him. I informed the driver this but he would not back down, he also would not give me his name and bus Id number! I then took another bus to the bus garge to complian they told me he within his right to kick me off as my son does not look 10 and that i do need a ID card for him....He then gave me a free phone number to call and complain but this number is not in use on a weekend so whats a person to do if they need help? My son is very tall for his age as most kids are now, I am 5ft1 and he is about 2 ins taller. I no it can be hard to tell but if the child is with a adult then I feel the bus driver should take your word for it! If your found to be laying then you should rightly be charges a fine. This whole system needs to be looked at again !
