If you support the Fairness Doctrine. What do you hope to achieve and how would you go about it?
The Fairness Doctrine when it is reimplemented, as it should be, must be more than an equal time provision for those who oppose whatever issue is being discussed to be on television or radio for an equal amount of time. The "opponent" should be required to actually talk about the issue the person he is responding to discussed. This should take no longer than the first person (proponent) took to express his view, but equal discussion of the issue being the main consideration, which may take less time than the first person who is being responded to took to express his opinion. There may be more than two people who wish to respond to any issue, the main consideration should be that all varieties of opinions on a topic, should be made available to the public to facilitate thought and discussion about the issues of these times in which we live. The Fairness Doctrine has the potential to promote democracy by increasing public awareness and participation in the issues that confront the People of the United States of America. Those who oppose the Fairness Doctrine only want to control the Message, so they can control the scope of the issues and the way they are view by the public. There can be more than one answer to a problem, and more people participating will promote better solutions that will benefit all the People of the United States of America!!!!
