What is a covenant, and why is it important in Judaism?

Covenant, is stronger than a vow; it is an oath that God has made with his people Israel - God is faithful, even when we are not; When we get married, we enter a covenant; that is why divorce is so despised- because God is a part of the covenant; a covenant is not a contract that can be broken; it is a promise that lasts -
