Do Fischer's Lovebirds make good pet birds?

I've really been wanting to bring a bird into my home. I have experience with a variety of birds, from finches to macaws (I worked in a pet store). I've been researching different types of birds, and have entertained the thought of atiels, quakers, and parrotlets. Today I had a good friend offer me one of her lovebird babies, but do they make good birds? Are they loud? Messier than most or decently clean? Any information would be great!
